Education & Outreach
The MIRTHE Academy is the center's "core" education program directed at full-time students carrying out MIRTHE mission. The Academy supports 30 graduate students and 30 undergraduate students. Primary goals of the MIRTHE Academy include: curriculum and faculty development, integration of LSAMP and AGEP programs, integration of societal impact/policy/tech transfer and student mobility and career development.
These year–round programs will primarily benefit current and prospective, undergraduate as well as graduate students, who will work alongside faculty and industrial partners to carry out the research questions addressed in MIRTHE. A large fraction of these students will enter MIRTHE through the partners’ LSAMP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) programs and some will enjoy additional support by an AGEP (Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate) program.
