About 100 undergraduate , graduate and high school students from across the U.S. came to MIRTHE for 2 months intensive summer 2010 program. The students, placed at six MIRTHE Universities are immersed in local research teams and conduct original and hands-on laboratory work. Activities include, besides original, cutting-edge, laboratory-based research, weekly conference calls and web-based training sessions with students at other MIRTHE universities, short courses offering insights into a wide range of research fields, informal social gatherings providing opportunities to network and to learn, and field trips to industrial and government laboratories in the area.

The 'Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes' workshop in D.C was very successful. It gave a deep insight and hands on feel for how various agencies, academies and the Government work and interact on science policies. We got the opportunity to visit NSF and work on a mock grants review panel. We obtained insight into the working of congressional office. Read more...
